In Our Apartment......................

Sleeping in this position is completely normal....

Swedish Twister is the greatest game ever.

Going to a bridal fair pretending to be engaged and looking at bridal magazines is the perfect date....

You can pretend to be whoever you want to be - in this case, Charlotte was pretending to be Taylor...

You might come home to find a dead snowman at your door. Turns out it was alive until Claire saw it and decided to kick it over...............

You can kiss hundreds of cheesy pick-up lines and tape them to everyone in your ward's door the night before Valentine's Day....

you can eat all of this junk food just because it's Valentine's Day and you're single....(no we're not depressed, we just like junk food. and by we I mean I)

You can play in the snow, even when there is barely enough to cover the grass....
(you can play baseball with snow)

(you can build a snowman on my head while I sit on my snow throne)

(Oliver shows you a video of him jumping out is window in a laundry basket)

(You can get your face shoved in the snow when you lose a snowball fight/chase

(you can take epic pictures of yourself sitting in a throne of snow)

you can decorate your fridge like this.....

And that about sums up our apartment!

My Children!

So, I recently started working at a daycare everyday after school. At first it was really stressful because it's just me in 1 room with 10-14, 4-year-olds. But I'm starting to get the hang of it now! On Valentine's Day I took some pictures of them - here they are!

There are a bunch more children in my life, pretty much all of them being in my family. I went and babysat my cousins Reese, Kendal, and Ty the other night and took a few pictures while I was there. Sometimes it's nice to get out of my apartment and go hang out with them :)

Why Girls Get Ready, Toilet Paper, My Children, and Handstands

Well hello there! Nothing too exciting has been going on lately. My new daycare job is going really well (details and pictures to come). We've done some makeovers, labeled our toilet paper, and I figured out I can do handstands in our hallway! You know, the usual.

So, here on the left we have Bethanie. She is my lovely roommate who allows me to doll her up every now and then. Here are the before and after pictures :) I did her hair, makeup, and had her put contacts in. And this, my friends, is why girls put forth
Before                         the effort to get ready in the morning.                     After

Below is Claire labeling our roll of toilet paper.......Basically we heard that someone in our ward labels each of his eggs (individually) with his full name. We thought it was pretty funny and joked about labeling other things in our apartment too. The funniest thing we could think of labeling was toilet paper - each person gets 3 squares, and you can't go to the bathroom unless it was your turn. We were just kidding, but Claire actually did it! hahaha. Oh Claire......

Next up are some of my children. At first the daycare job was overwhelming. They basically threw me into a room with 10, 4-5 year olds and said "entertain them for the next 3 hours while they all try to get your attention, climb all over you, and fight with each other." Easy, right? Now it's gotten a lot easier. I've figured out what will keep them entertained, how to discipline the fighters, and all that good stuff. I also found out that they love having their picture taken! Here are a few of them.

Lastly, I would like to explain the picture below............A few days ago I was having trouble focusing on my homework (surprise, surprise). I was talking to Bethanie, and she told me to do handstands to get the blood to go to my brain. I did, and my feet touched the ceiling when I did it. I kept "practicing" this until I could hold myself up with my feet on the ceiling. It's so much fun! Ok, maybe entertaining is the word I'm looking for....regardless, it's my newest hobby :)

Nerd Dance, Winter, and Dean's Mission Call

So basically it's been forever since I've been on here. My calculus class must be over! Thank goodness for that! It is officially a new semester full of exciting new adventures! For starters, Wyview had a nerd dance last weekend, which was super fun. Here are our lovely outfits :)

Shopping for our outfits at DI :)

Charlotte's awesome new grandpa glasses

All ready to go!

Good Times :)

Next up was spending the day with Haley in Springville/Mapleton. The pictures say it all.........

On Wednesday night, Dean opened his mission call! He is going to Ft.Lauderdale Florida, spanish speaking.

That's all for now folks!

Happy 2012!!!

Happy 2012 everyone!!! I've been seriously slacking with this blog, but I've been pretty busy. I'm FINALLY done with my job at Sbarro, which is awesome!!! It was pretty brutal having to stay at my apartment alone for the week before Christmas because of work :/ but at the same time, it was nice to have the apartment to myself :) I'm glad my roommates are back now though.

My last day at Sbarro!!!!

Christmas was pretty typical and fun. We had our usual kid's sleepover in the basement on Christmas Eve, which is always fun. Max stayed up until 3:00am! I was shocked he could even do it! We had tons of junk food, and stayed up late watching movies, and playing MarioKart :)

(Notice the controllers all over, the sleeping bags, the sleeping children being woken up for Christmas, and Haley pretending to flip off whoever is waking her up)

For Christmas I got windshield wipers, a new ice scraper, candy, clothes, a duffel bag, stuff like that. Grandma Barnes also made me a blanket made up of all my old Christmas PJ's which I love! We went to Grandma and Grandpa Platt's for lunch, and then the whole Barnes family came over to our house for dinner. Number of rolls devoured: 8. Success!

Stockings :)

Christmas tree on Christmas morning!

Rice Krispy treat bear

5,000 cookies? Check. We must be going to a Platt family function.

The rest of my break I hung out with a few friends who were home for Christmas too, played games with the fam, saw a movie with the Platt cousins, and such. It was pretty great! It's SO nice not to have any school stuff to work on over the break! I did have some school stress though because I found out that my grades weren't good enough for me to keep one of my scholarships :( :( :( But all is well, and I'm going to work way harder next semester.

New Year's Eve was on Saturday. I played games with Bob, Haley, and her friend Sarah, which took FOREVER. It was fun though. We have some awesome glasses that we use on New Year's, complete with Martinellies (spelling?) :) Since our house is up on the hill and the firework bans have been lifted, we had a pretty awesome view of a bunch of fireworks. So cool!

And now I'm back at my apartment with my roomies :) Tomorrow I'm going to change my major, which I'm super excited about! I'm switching from Elementary Education to Psychology :) Eventually I want to do marriage and family counseling. I can't wait for everyone else to come back to Wyview! I miss everyone! They should be getting here tomorrow though :) It will be weird to have new people in the ward, but I'm excited about it :) So long for now!

Shout outs!

I decided to do shout outs to some of my favorite people! And once again, if you're not on here or named individually, no hard feelings. Also, these are in no particular order.

Quincey McNeil
Now what on Earth would I do without my BFF, Quincey? I have no clue. We've been best friends since the day she was born. Our moms were roommates in college and so were our dads. Weird, right? But hey, it sure has worked out nicely for us! When I was little I would tell my other friends that I couldn't be their best friend because I already had a best friend who lived in Colorado named Quincey. You can imagine our excitement when I moved just a couple minutes away from her when I was 10, and again when I was 12 :) We had tons of fun together, as often as possible. When I moved to Texas and Utah, we were both devastated, but I have come back to visit a couple times a year. I have been at her house for every one of her birthdays since she turned 10, which has been an awesome tradition! I love our deep chats and trips to Yogurtland and Cafe Rio, and I look forward to the many more that will come. She has been there for me through everything, and I love her so so much! :) Thanks "Cey"! hahaha Also, thanks Mike, Sari, Morgan, and Riley for putting up with me and letting me live with you guys during my visits :)

Melissa Huck
Oh the crazy times of Ki and Missa.....I've known this girl since I moved to Colorado the first time, and we've been besties ever since. She's the one who got me through all the craziness of 5th grade and Middle School. We certainly had our fair share of drama (usually from boys), but it's funny to look back at now. After I moved I came to visit her, and she has come out a couple of times to visit me. We have so many inside jokes it's ridiculous :) weapons of mass destruction, Matt Hamilton (I love how he's an inside joke hahaha), grass wars, me dropping suckers on myself, etc. I'm so thankful for our friendship and I hope the best for her! And of course, thanks to her parents who have let me stay with them, and who have gone out of their way on many occasions to help me.

Haley/Choncho
Pronto Choncho! Brian Reagan, Gabriel Inglesias, Corn dogs, Jamba Juice, Fortune Cookies, Princess Diaries, The Proposal, Baby Mama, She's the Man, Disney movies, Springville, Texas, Childhood, need I say more? I think not. Remember how every single night for the last 2 months or so before I moved out we would stay up talking in the bathroom until like 2 am? Um ya, check. Remember us "working out" at said time in the morning and then making pancakes? Remember the day that everyone in our ward discovered that we were friends? Remember how you wouldn't get out of the car one night and for a second I thought I was actually going to have to pick a certain someone up with you hiding in the back seat? Remember when you helped break my wrist? and how we are still little children every time we are together? and how you were a devil child, but we would still play in our barbie closet together all day long? And how you broke my water yo-yo and I have never forgiven you? hmm....ya. I do. Remember the car accident and how neither of us knew for a moment if the other was going to be ok? and how scary that was? Ya, I definitely remember that part. And how you put up with all of the "breakup songs" I listened too for a while there hahahaha "we're going on a walk" Anywho, I'm sure there will be many more adventures upcoming, especially if I decide to move back home for the summer. "Just give me the dogs!" I look forward to it :)

Mom
Have you ever heard the song "The best day" by Taylor Swift? If not, you should listen to it like right now. That about sums things up. I'm glad that I've had an open relationship with my mom, because it's nice to talk to her about things that other people can't really understand. Panks, panks mom!

Melanie Hunter and Bergen Beesley
My fellow Orange Leafers!!!!!!!!! I just love you guys soooo much! Remember graduation night?!?! I'm pretty sure those bounce houses are the greatest things that have ever happened to me! I love and miss our talks outside Melanie's house in the car. Except for the time my car battery died...........haha! Thanks for getting me through high school! I can't wait to see you both super soon!!!!!!!!!!

Roomies
Oh my gosh, where do I even begin?!?!?! I just love you all so much! I love our late night chats and our singing/yelling to people through the window, and our chair from DI, and just everything! Ya toast! I'm going to miss you all over the break! Roomies for life!
